At El Mezcal of Defiance, OH, we pride ourselves on serving the area’s very finest Mexican cuisine. However, no great Mexican restaurant would be complete without excellent options at the bar to complement your meal! That’s why we serve a full bar and extensive drink menu to help make every visit an occasion to remember. One of our specialty spirits is the namesake of the restaurant: El Mezcal. This strong drink is often confused with tequila, but is actually its very own type of distilled alcoholic beverage. Made from the maguey plant, mezcal is a traditional Nahuatl beverage, and the name means “oven-cooked agave.” Today in Mexico, this strong drink is gaining popularity, though in other parts of the world, when people think of Mexican spirits, tequila is still king! Ask our bar for a sample of either.

Of course, we serve all your favorite soft drinks, juice, and coffee, as well as a full bar selection of imported and domestic beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails. Pick a simple mixed drink with your favorite spirit, or enjoy a traditional Mexican beer with your meal, like Dos Equis (XX), Pacífico, or Modelo Especial, and, of course, Corona!

No Mexican bar would be complete without a selection of fine tequilas, and a variety of delicious margaritas as the perfect complement to any meal – or as a great excuse to come out and visit us at El Mezcal all on their own!
